Basila and the Street Crew

Basila and the Street Crew is a story about a young girl named Basila who tries to make things right in her city. She stands up against child labor and animal abuse, inspiring others to fight for justice. She is an artist who learns from the streets of Karachi and uses city walls as her canvas. Her own past is a mystery – who was her mother and why was she hunted as a baby? Basila is not alone, she is helped by Riffat Aapa, a transgender woman, and a group of kids with unique skills. Together, they try to solve a crime that may hold the answers to Basila’s past.
I was the co-creator and illustrator of the project and responsible for creating the story-arc, characters and the entire illustration process.
